Duality Is A Fact Of Life, You Need To Take Note

By: Mercedes Oestermann van Essen

Feelings of insecurity is reigning supreme again at present and so is the worry about the uncertain times ahead. Funny how the entire world can turn on a dime, isn't it? This is the power of the collective consciousness. Within the space of a month or so, the entire media only sees the worst possible outcome of everything. There is no good news any more and there can only be bad outcomes. Even people who used to be calm, centred and level headed are getting sucked in. It is rather like a once strong army that is falling one by one.

There is no doubting the fact that things are looking pretty challenging right now, but this is not to say that all of a sudden the positives have simply disappeared. One thing is sure, going around blaming everyone apart from ourselves, yes I believe we all have to take responsibility for our part here, is pretty pointless.

I could go as far as to say that the mass hysteria, which is fuelled by the media, flies in the face of a dualistic world view. We know that we make up our world by seeing dualistic pictures of black and white, day and night, good and bad. This is an oversimplification of universal laws though and a pretty immature way to make sense of your world. What is more, when you take a look at history you will notice that the game of black and white, as it has also been called, simply does not work.

You will always get what you focus on. If you focus on all the bad things out there and believe that the end of the world, or our system is near, you will make this view a self fulfilling prophesy. Sure, the world's political and financial system can collapse. All it takes is enough people believing that it cannot be rescued. The same people who hold these beliefs, also fail to see that our entire world is basically created out of our beliefs and nothing else. Of course, it is always possible to stop believing in this truism too and again, if enough of us believe it, the world and everything we know, will surely come to an end, because we will find a way to make it happen, just to prove our beliefs.

So, if this is what you want, I cannot argue with you. But you just might like to consider this: If it is true that we only have this one existence in this body, does it not make more sense to produce a life we can be proud of and happy with? Maybe you are getting some hidden benefits out of the scare mongering and are feeding your mind's need for drama. I am sure there are better ways of fulfilling that need, if indeed you must. Perhaps, just waking up to your mind games, which for most of us are going on subconsciously and hence remain undetected by your conscious awareness, is enough of a wake up call that will get you out of your trance and create positive change.

So, please get this: In amongst the chaos out there, there is not only opportunity, but there is also plenty of beauty, kindness, happiness and love. Get your priorities right and understand that black cannot exist without white, and that the pain you are experiencing is the natural opposite of joy. You do not have to give weight to the pain, nor the black. You can strive to achieve mental balance and from that vantage point you see everything in your world, the good, the bad, and the many opportunities you will surely miss if you are on either side of the extreme.
